Project1

This project was required to create a visual effects effects sequence using own original footage.We should select two or three vfx tutorials avaialble on the Internet, and then apply the techniques covered to your footage.

Therefore, I finished my first  step of my work.

Step2, I want to use the energy into my video which are comes from the website which are http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/energy/

 

The tutorial show how to add a energy into the video, and I want to add the energy to my video.

Except the energy, I create a magic ball into my video to show the person's power.

The magic follow me and became more and more bigger.

 

Reflection:

For a video, I think the most important thing is planning which means that you should have a good story before you start to film somethings. ok, go back my project. In the beginning, I was so confusing about my storyboard as I really don't know what I should do. I go though all the effects and I want to use all of them, but I know that was impossible. Finally, I choose an effect which was the one of the best effect I thought. After that，I started to plan my video.

Basic on the requirment, I need involved two or three VFX in my video and I also need to do some more color corrections. All and  all, my story is about a girl who are suddenly with a migic power(bule) and the migic power would always around with her. The suddenly means she get the enery form the sky.(I can add my enery effect here)

Well, the basic story was done, then I started to film own video.(bulabula)

After filming the video, I tried to add the effect to my video. First things, I chhange the color of the video, and set the keyframe from 0 to 5 seconds. We can feel the video became more darker and let people have a mistery atmosphere. Secondly，how to create a magic ball on the girl ? In fact, I was not creating a ball, my magic ball is made by two lights and a light bule background. I create a few of keyframes which let the lights change the positions. Then，I using motion tracking to track the magic ball and the video, the magic ball would follow the video to move.The most important part was coming -- enery effect. This part I follow the tutorial and I do a little bit changes such as I change the color of the enery and I change the direction of the bubles. Form this tutorial, I learnt how to use CC particle world to adjust the particles. It was quite fun and amazing. CC particle world is a quite powerful tool for helping to finished the project.

In the end, I also use particle to create my title and ends words. It more like a really magic world.

Week3 Exercises

Week3 was finish, this week we learn how to make a nice color for our video.

Lab1

Go though the tutorials and tried to adjust the Warriors way.

Form the first lab exercise, I learnt how to use the basic hue/level/curves to adjust the video's color. The Warriors Way, I change the hue/saturation effect and tried to make both video like to one peice.

Tried to use color correction to change the video color which was basic on the primary color and secondary color correction.

For this exercise, I learn how to use the SA color correction to adjust the video color.As the first and second pictures, I use primary color correction to do it which was make the picture not so bright and yellow. For the bucket, I also used the color fitness to do it. it was called secondary color correction.

This exercise just use level and brightness to change the video color and try to make more different.

This is shot is quite easy to edit. I used SA Color Finesse — full interface — curve to edit the color. I applied lab 2 part 1 tutorial to this exercise. It is quite useful. After most of color appear correctly,  edited the detail part of the shot.

 This shot is difficult to edit for me. I try to use many ways to edit it, but i still cannot create the effect. In the end, i used color hue, brightness, curves and other color corrections to did it. Hope i can find good solution for it.

Week2 Exercise

There was quite fun to create the effect and I also knew lots of basic knowledge about after effect. During week, I might learn much more technology about the after effect.

This tutorial was teaching us how to use track matte. Tried to make a words on the screen like the TV title.

Reflection:

This week was more like a E-leaning week. Teacher gave us a few of tutorials to learn. Of course these video were quite useful for me.

During the lab2, I knew how to make the words on the screen and tried to make it more natural. Tracking matte is a quite powerful technology which to make the words make more nicer.

The last lab was my favorite part -- James Bond Title. The original video was bond walk form the right side and kept walking to the center to shoot the screen. I need to create a circle to concentrate the bonds. To create a circle first, then create a null object which will help the circle may follow the bonds to move. At this moment，I had two layers. After that, I duplicate the circle layer and set the time. There also have an other important thing to create the special background. The tutorial let me to create the black and write line as a part of background, but I really thought the line was not suitable for the title video. Therefore, I delete it. Last but not least, make a blood screen to cover all the screen as a mask. Finally, done~~~~~~~~~~

Week1 Exercises

Lab1

For part 1, i did Animating & Compositing Basic. This tutorial teach me how to create a dynamic motion title sequence, and this video covers animation terminology, after effects workspace, commonly used tools and basic motion. In part2, I learn how to use keyframe and temporal interpolation to make all the elements in video and make them more smooth.

As，the video is too big, I cannot upload. Therefore, I put picture on the blog.

This exercise is following the basic of tutorial to create a blood spurt from a gun shot. This tutorial will teach me how to use mask to hide parts of layer from other layers. Besides, I know what is the motion tracking. Mostly, motion tracking would use to cover soomethings.

Reflection：

This week was a excited week. I learn a lot of things about the After Effect. After Effect is a very huge and magic software which may help us to bring a magic power. After this class, I know much more movies are use special effects to do the magic part.

For the first exercise, I was following the tutorial and step by step to learn how to how to use the After effect . First exercise was more like add a film title, how to make a basic title. Otherwise, the second exercise was quite interesting. when someone shoot, the man was shock and there were have some blood jumping on the tree. During this exercise, I learn how to use tracking point to make a film track and how to create a mask to cover the blood. The Lab3 had a few of exercises which were help me to know more about After effect.

I was so happy to start our new 3D special effect class. 

During this module, we use After effect to create magic effects and learn much more technologies about the After effect software.
